Whole Person Physiome 1st Data Jamboree
August 24–25, 2026 (Virtual)
The Whole Person Physiome Research and Coordination Center (WPP-RCC) is hosting its first annual hackathon, the Whole Person Physiome Data Jamboree, as a free, virtual event on August 24–25, 2026. The event is open to the public, and the Center for Reproducible Biomedical Modeling is happy to help spread the word to our community of modelers, developers, and computational biologists.
What is the Whole Person Physiome Data Jamboree?
The WPP-RCC is a new NIH-funded effort, part of the broader NIH Whole Person Initiative, working to build a digital human physiome resource: a single framework that integrates the multiscale interactions and processes of all the body’s major organs. This first Data Jamboree gives the community an early, hands-on look at that resource. Participants will explore the initial release of the project’s whole-person physiology tables, knowledge graph, and pilot models, and help the WPP-RCC team identify use cases, gaps, and features to prioritize for future development.
It’s a chance to shape a foundational resource for whole-person physiological modeling while connecting with other researchers working across organ systems and scales.

The event is open to the public and designed for a broad mix of participants, including:

- Scientists and computational modelers
- Clinicians
No specific application is required beyond registering; the organizers welcome anyone with an interest in whole-person physiological modeling, biomedical data integration, or knowledge graphs.

About the Whole Person Physiome Research and Coordination Center
The WPP-RCC was launched with NIH funding as part of the NIH Whole Person Initiative, overseen by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and supported by more than 20 NIH institutes and offices. Its mission is to build the first comprehensive, expert-curated map of human physiology, one that links physiological processes across organ systems with clinical measures, and is designed to be both AI-ready and compatible with modern data science workflows.
The effort is led by a multi-institutional team, including Michael Snyder, PhD (Stanford School of Medicine), Katy Börner, PhD (Indiana University), Liming Pei, PhD (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia), and Katalin Susztak, MD, PhD (University of Pennsylvania). Beyond this Data Jamboree, the WPP-RCC plans to release updated versions of its physiome map and tools on a regular cycle, alongside tutorials and educational materials, and to hold these hackathons annually to keep the resource grounded in real community needs.
